About Our Flats Fishing Trips
We offer
4, 6,
and 8 hour flats fishing charters to
sight fish the flats of the Florida Keys Backcountry for
1 or as many as 4 persons. These trips offer you shots
at all the shallow water sport fish available during
that season. You can fish with us on a traditional state
of the art flats boat or take the comfort, ride and
versatility of our brand new and latest in design
bay
boats. Either way you will have a great day fishing the
flats.
Flats Boats
Offer
the traditional way of fishing the flats. Poling
platform with a shallow drafted super light weight
skiff. The guide poles along the skinny waters looking
for sport fish. Once your guide spots a fish he then
instructs his angler to make the cast.
Flats boats are fantastic ways for
2 persons or less to
fish the flats and the flats only. They have no
versatility to effectively fish deeper waters or other
areas with comfort. Flats boats have no bathrooms and
have little room. It is recommended to have a strong
knowledge of your choice in tackle to fish the flats in
order to make the most of your day as the fishing guide
has little opportunity to help you with your casting.
Fly Fishermen
that are the purists still prefer the traditional
flats boat and we are happy to take them to catch
their trophy. Our
Lake and Bay Flats boats are the best casting
platforms available in flats boats.
Bay Boats
Are new
for flats fishing here in the Florida keys and Key West.
With the technical improvements in hull designs and
trolling motors
bay boats
have become a great way for 4 or less persons to enjoy
all that flats fishing has to offer.
Able to float in as little as 12 inches we have found no
reason not to use them for flats fishing. On the bay
boat your guide uses a
bow mount trolling motor in stead of a
push pole. This allows your guide to show you more
flats and less time between fish with the extra
maneuverability.
Bay boats
offer another dimension to a flats fishing
charter. In our

The only disadvantage the bay boats have offered us is
the ability to float in 6 inches of water to chase small
tailing bonefish. This fishery mostly done in the summer
months is a fishery our flats boats cannot even do.

Fly fishing
is awesome on the bay
